This edition of the high-level event "European Forum on Rural Development" is titled "Rural Development for Food Security: learning from experiences".

Olivier De Schutter shall address the forum at the opening plenary session, on March 29th. The session is on "Effective global and regional governance for food and nutrition security", and his intervention will focus on the governance regimes that can best achieve the shift towards agro-ecological farming, in line with the recommendations included in the annual report presented by the Special Rapporteur on the right to food at the 16th session of the Human Rights Council.
