The Special Rapporteur on the right to food visited Mexico from 13 to 20 June 2011. In sections II and III of the present report, he reviews the current situation of food insecurity and the legal and policy framework.

The right to food is a human right recognized under international law, which protects the right of all human beings to feed themselves in dignity, either by producing their food or by purchasing it.
